beccauk
After only having my chickens now for a 1 1/2 weeks we have let them roam 3 - 4 times in the garden mainly when we are moving the eglu and run onto new grass, the chickens are exploring more eachtime, makes me chuckle when one starts doing something new like scrating the grass then the others arent long before they start to mimic, well today they ventured to a bare soil patch which has abit of compost mixed ontop ( normally grow my courgettes on it in summer and have raspberry canes ) One started scrating them crouching down and dust bathing it was so cute, then the 2nd started borrowing next to her they were both so happy spend ages rolling round, flicking soil, my 3rd chicken and i think oldest as its got the larger and redder of the combs at present started going upto them and scrating right up close them tried pecking a feather them eat it! the chicken started repeating this so used a stick to shoo it away each time the hen when pecking at a feather and fulling, but not when it was just near them not bothering. I havent noticed any pecking feathers between them any other time in the run as its bullying. but eating the feathers it was pecking seemed odd, just seeing if anyone else knows anything or had this happen lol i still havent picked names for them as you can tell lol im feeling each day i have the chickens yet more questions i have to ask lol, sorry!
