Smart Feeder - Light sensor values

Help ???? Could someone come up with an answer to Chickley (who is top of the chicken pecking order ) has developed a very nasty habit of pecking and eating the eggs. She is an ex battery Hen and is nearly 6yrs old. She started doing this just before they went into moult last year. When she started laying again this year she was alright for the first month now its a game to shut her out of the hen house before the othe 2 lay theirs.

So I would really appreciate any ideas other than the obvious(I dont want to put her down as she is really a lovely chick)

Have you tried her on some protein/calcium supplements?

Fran does it if she is moulting or starting to lay again, I give them some soaked pellets with cooked egg shell

grounded down and a sprinkle or glug of a supplement.

I seems to do the trick.

You could try the mustard filled eggs or using fake pot ones to deter her.

 

I heard on the radio this morning someone had put golf balls in the nest box and a python got in and swallowed them
