Ain't Nobody Here
I got an email from KGB deals about a dynamic composter (which I'd never even heard of!). Still very expensive at £89 (plus £10 P&P ) but original price is £199 . Are these worth the money?
Olly
Is this one of those 'tumbler' ones? I got given one last year by the chap who landscaped my garden, it was about to be chucked in a skip on another job he was doing! The downsides first: they take up a lot of room, although that may depend on design. They can be quite heavy to turn - mine goes end-to-end, and I can only half fill it or it's too heavy for me. The main problem is that you can't keep stacking it up, like a conventional composter, because it's all jumbled up - ideally you need to fill it, and then leave/turn it for a few weeks, empty it, refill etc. -otherwise you'll get a mix of half-composted stuff. That said, I have been impressed with the speed at which stuff composts in it, especially since I usually forget to turn it over regularly! I've used it over the winter particularly to compost veg waste/chicken waste, when it is nice and crumbly I decant it into my regular compost heap and start again. I'm not sure if I would have paid for one though, and I have quite a large garden so I've been able to 'hide' it behind the greenhouse under an apple tree.
