Kaysie86
Hi all, My silkie has been broody for the last week, I've been taking her out the nest box and trying to keep her out but not successfully. This morning I noticed she something on her underneath. I picked her up and it looked like dried poo so I gave her a bath and at there were two bits stuck on her. The first bit came off easily and the second was a bit stuck on. I lifted her out to check her and What came off like dried poo was actually her skin, revealing whiter, pinky skin. She's a black silkie so it's more noticeable after the bath. I've sprayed gentian violet on in the meantime. I'm concerned because I had a hen die of fly-bite once. Is this more likely to be ammonia burns?
