mimi5
Hi all, Well my first group of hatchlings are nearly 3 weeks old!!!!! How the time flies!! They are all pekins from my cockerel and his 3 ladies. The second broody was sitting on bought hatching pekin eggs and 3 chciks hatched at the begining of the week They are so cute! One golden coloured, which I think may be a buff colour and a black mottled, the third is just about all black, but has black legs and feet. Should it? As I thought all pekins had yellow legs and feet?? Can anyone shed some light please?
Redwing
Yes they should have yellow feet In saying that my barred Wyandotte pullets often hatch with dark legs then lose it as they get older
mimi5
Thanks for the reply Redwing. Glad I'm not imagining things!! So could it be a mixed breed chick? I bought the hatching eggs as all pure pekin. It also has a reddy colour to it's beak which none of the others have. Thanks
