My chickens will be moving to their new cube and WIR next week. My slide out trays just slide out when you very gently pull on them, I can feel that there is some sort of hitch underneath the tray but it doesn't hook on to anything. I'm just worried about a raccoon pulling out a tray on me, not that they could get in through the tray but might traumatize my chickens. Are the trays supposed to lock in place or slide out easy?

The small metal 'flange' on the underside of each tray should lock into the slot in the main base of the Cube; you might need to pull the metal strip away from the poo tray slightly.

Thanks, I've tried pulling that flange down to hook onto the base of the cube so it doesn't slide out so easily, but it's still not catching for some reason.

Mane latch easily, but one got buckled once and I had to straighten it out with pliers but it works fine now.

The area where the latch is supposed to catch looked like it had maybe broken off in shipment. I just couldn't get the darn thing to catch. Rather than try to rememdy through Omlet, I took matters into my own hands and added a bracket that locks the trays into place. Very secure. I can then just turn the bracket when I want to pull out the trays.
