nanarock
Hi everyone Since i last posted we have lost Jennifer to a fox. We also thought we had lost Nigella but she was returned to us buy a neighbour 2 days later. As we thought Clarissa was the only surviving chicken we purchased 2 more point of lay chickens to keep her company. The lady we purchased them off advised putting them straight in with Clarissa at night when she was drowsy. This was a disaster as Clarissa attacked them and struck blood. So I have now separated them with eglu netting for the last 3 days. The lady said to let the newbies have the eglu at night and put old chicken in other quarters which I have done, but I switch them over during the day so old chickens can lay in the eglu as usual. Nigella is not aggresive to the new chickens but Clarissa charges at them even though they are separated. Should I put Nigella in with new chickens? Am I doing wrong taking the old chickens out of Eglu at night? should it be the other way round? I am finding this all quite stressful. Please help!
