Janet G
Or more accurately claws. We've got 1 hen who's a bit lame having had scaly leg mite. We've had to confine her as her legs were being pecked by some of the other hens, & because she's been pretty stationary her claws have grown too long. They look to be making walking uncomfortable for her. Can / should we clip them, & if so how much to take off, we don't want to make them bleed? We're in the process of reintegrating her with the others & feel she should be as nimble as possible. Thanks Janet
The Dogmother
It's not easy to clip their claws as the quick is very long so take care. Have some vet wound powder or a soft bar of soap handy to staunch any bleeding.
