williamspencer98
I've had my silkie hen for 7 days now, fine until this morning (12 hours ago), when she started opening her neck out and opening her beak widely to breath? She's shaking and isn't eating much or drinking much. She hasn't since we got her really. Any ideas what it is? She's been wormed and vaccinated from the farm. Egghead68
It might be gapeworm or another respiratory infection. She needs to see a vet. Hope she picks up.
mabelandflosmum
My bluebell did this. Her crop was very full and the vet said she had an obstruction. Best take her for an expert opinion Hope she'll be ok.
williamspencer98
Thanks for your replies, I noticed this morning there was a chunk bitten out of her neck, which is what the Bully, called Wilhelmina did! What we've done is seperated her in one of our old houses and today we're going to get some more Silkies or see if they have the Mille Fleur bantams I loved! How addictive is chicken keeping?????!!!! Thanks for your help guys Will
