daxigirl
Had a nagging suspicion that Mavis Cruet who is a silver pencilled Wyandotte might be a boy when looking at her this morning. Things that had me worried were play fighting with her sister Willo (Scots Grey)and squaring up to her mum Thora B. also what looks to be pinkish wattles under her chin. However just googled what the cockerals & hens look like and she's definitely girlie feathered. Phew (Now just hope that someone with experience of them doesn't come along to tell me that they change feather colour at 10 weeks or after a moult or something. )
Clunie
Hi just read your post and hope that Mavis Cruet is a girl. I've hatched silver pencilled wyndotte banties twice now and this time was pleasantly surprised that I could easily sex them at about 3 weeks old. Hope all is well Mine are now about 11 weeks old and I've 4 girls and one boy. Girls have their lovely double chevron per feather on them. The male is quite splodgy with wattles! daxigirl
Mavis is the prettiest girl ever. Totally smitten with my plump little bird. I think Willo (the cry baby) is the bitsa egg as her feathers look a bit wrong for a Scots Grey, shape wise they're very narrow and her tail is rather long. You know what a Sumatra hen shape is she looks like that only cuckoo coloured.
