Well, they may be dinky, but our little ladies have definatey made their mark! Today, LuLu the white pekin had Morticia the pied sussex in the hen version of a headlock...! Its their first night in the WIR with the established girls, eglu and cube cleaned and ready for the usual amusement as the girls choose where to sleep, Poppy (lemon cukoo pekin) was sitting on top of the cube while Esther (exchequer leghorn) tried to push herself as close to the mesh as possible while being outstared by said Poppy, when I popped out to check all was calm, 5 out of 7 big hens were roosting on the shelf in the WIR, Poppy and LuLu were in the eglu and I guess Wembly (black frizzle pekin), lilly (light sussex), suzie (sultan) and celia (silver pencilled pekin) are in the cube..

 

At least Ticia (short for Morticia, pied sussex), Dixy (columbian blacktail) and Bella (spekledy) are chilled in their eglu classic away fom the bedlam!! I sense an extension to the WIR coming on...

My little pekins can put a big orpington on its back like a beetle and my pekin cockbird at my friends farm decided to take on one of her rheas leanne.

Oh my! For such cuddly, friendly little birds they aren't half feisty! He took on a RHEA?!

Yes but he does go by the name of psycho eddie as he would grab hold of your finger and not let go he was going to meet a broomstick but my friend took him and he runs on her 6 acre farm leanne

wonderful name! Glad he didn't have to meet a broomstick, its always lovely when they can have a nice big home to take their aggression out of anything that moves!! He sounds a little character bless him
