Mr Rhode Island Red
While on the train to Dublin to my holidays, I was happily using the train's wifi the battery started to empty (normally) and I plugged it in to one of the train's electricity sockets to charge it. A few hours later, I just reached down to my phone to see if it was there, and it was, but boy was it overheating! It was scorching to the touch, so I just removed the battery and it started to cool down. Once I got back to my hotel room, I went to put the battery back in and charge it. It seemed OK. I plugged it in and I got the notification *beep* to tell me it was charging, but ten minutes later *beep* *beep**beep It had stopped charging for some reason. So I plugged it in again, but this time, no notification beep totally lifeless. So I brought it to the Carphone Warehouse the next day, and they said that, when I got home, that I should order a new battery for my phone off amazon. So when I got home, I did that, got my battery in 4 days, put it in the phone, and put it charging. I came back 2 hours later to see if it had come back to life. It hadn't. Still lying there staring at me with a blank screen. So, I brought it back to the shop I bought it in (Vodafone) and they said they could send it off to their "repair staff" to get it fixed and that it would take about a week and a half. They said that anything on the phone memory would be wiped, but your SIM and memory cards won't. Quite a hollow consolation. If that doesn't work, I am totally stuck. Willow
It doesn't look that particular phone has a known over heating problem when recharging I guess you've just been unlucky. I'm afraid it may be the case that none of your SIM and memory card data can be saved depending on how hot the phone got.
