Hi all im after a bit of advise, me and the family are off on holiday in November, i had a think about what is best to do with the ducks, my neighbour is happy to feed them but just worried about the fireworks, any ideas what to do or know of a place we can take them for 5 days?? P.s we are in Herefordshire but travelling up to bognor.

Would your neighbour not lock them in at night for you what breed are they and how many do you have ? leanne

Hi there yes my neighbour would but because it will be over firework night i wanted them to be kept inside as they would be scared (so i have been told).

 

They are 2 white indian runners both female and about 12 weeks old approx.

Hi as long as they are locked in their house they will be fine there is no need to take the house indoors i am not that far from bognor and could probs have them but i think the journey down would be stressful as it is a long way leanne

So you think they wont get scared? as i am in quite a built up area i wasnt sure if they would get too stressed with all the bangs?

 

I think driving them that far would stress them definatly

Indoors, outdoors, if there will be fireworks they will hear them.

 

May as well have them secure in a familiar place with banging rather them be in a unfamiliar place with banging.

I agree with cyclone they will hear them but will be fine aslong as your neighbour locks them in if you think about it what do all the wild ducks do on the ponds they dont have houses i have had ducks for years and touch wood never lost one due to fireworks and we have one family in my street who always have to go over board leanne

Sorted.. i have spoke to the breeder we got them from and he will take them in for a week all he wants is a few beers IDEAL!!

 

Great business he runs !!
