sadietoo
DS has a place at Queens Belfast for September. We are looking at the options to move his stuff (Including two guitars ) out there from our home on the south coast...(yes, miles away from Holyhead or Liverpool !) . We've looked at Uni Baggage (who seem to be intermediaries for ParcelForce) does anyone have any experience of any good removals firms that could cope with one or two large boxfulls of stuff plus a guitar or two?. So far the ferries are looking very expensive, and Flybe from Southampton seems the cheaper option , but I'm not sure we'll get all his stuff on the plane so we may need a separate carrier....your thoughts and suggestions as ever welcomed. bettyhen
You could maybe try shiply . I think that they have a free listing going on at the moment. I`ve used them three times and have had good service.

sadietoo
Thanks for the suggestions, we are looking at moving his stuff out on a pallet!
Cinnamon
Something to bear in mind is that it may all potentially need moving back again at the end of the Uni year, then back out to his private accommodation again in October While you are over there it might be an idea to pick up some leaflets from storage facilities Also you can minimise a lot of stuff ny booking him a Tesco (or whoever) delivery once he has arrived - they can do food, household stuff, even bedding & towels & cookware. Good luck!
sadietoo
Hi Cinnamon, Thanks, we have got a few options (crosses fingers) for storage for the duration but he will want to bring the guitars back and forth so that is going to be expensive (they are checked separately as baggage on flights!) I don't know why it was easier to move DD to Bordeaux for her year abroad, maybe she just didn't have as much gubbins! Will definitely try to book food shopping...One major difficulty at the moment is that he doesn't actually have any accomodation yet (well not as last wednesday anyway) since the little darling left it too late to apply and he has been otherwise engaged at Reading Festival since Thursday morning so I have no idea where we are with it at the moment! Cinnamon
Ah yes,Reading Festival,I feel your pain. I live just 6 or so miles away - I can hear it from my house (Kaiser Chiefs have just finished!) Just heard that The Foos are playing until 1am due to a special licence tonight - thats a looooooooooong wait in the car park for me then Good luck with it all.
