i have one miss pepperpot "tweedy" who is about 3 years old, she lives alone since the passing of "deeley" and i wondered if it would be a problem to get 2 new young hens to live with her? would there be a pecking order issue as she is the only hen, and the 2 new ones would obviously be strangers to each other

They will sort the pecking order out, your single hen needs to be part of a hierarchy. She'd be happier as bottom hen than solitary hen.
