Hybrids.

Hi, anyone have rohde Island red, light sussex cross? (there are so many names for them I thought I'd use a basic term!) Anyway, We have 5 wonderful hens who have laid 1 each a day since they came into lay  We have quite a demand for eggs from people wanting to buy and for my cake business, we wanted to get a few more hens of the same breed and was wondering how long they will lay for and what their life expectancy is? What we don't want is to end up with loads of non-laying hens! I would find it very hard to cul them as they are pets and don't believe that they should be got rid of when they have served their purpose!! Any advice welcome. Thanks
