egg bound?

Recommended Posts

Hope you got it sorted and she is OK.

My vets view being eggbound as an emergency as the chicken can go downhill very rapidly (24-48 hours). They X-ray to confirm the problem and then give an oxytocin injection to help things along.

If it's a tumour, depending on the nature/location they can sometimes be fine for a long time I think - read about one who lived another 4 years after a tumour diagnosed and died of unrelated causes.

thank you, it is a tumour..

she is home as she is not presenting ill...

to enjoy as much retirement as she can...

Just as 3 4 others that went for check up..

Sadly one was not so lucky.. RIP Sparky

While my vet (who does not agree with draining) was on holiday,

2 others went to another practice that does.

One had 750 ml of clear (ish not eggy or pussie) drained and had a week of antibiotics and metacam

The other 350 ml of eggy goey stuff draied. samre treatment but with if ok in 2 weels to have a delvosterone injection( something the other also does not agree with!)

The one that does has been treating for years like this , so...................?????? :?:?:?:?

(these are or old exbats. not newly released 2years out... rescued twice )

every week a bonus!
