Okay, I've made the decision to add another 2 or 3 ladies to my small flock of 3 :dance: , with this addition will come new housing for them and I'm thinking of buying a larger coop that they can all eventually nest in (after months of intregation, I'm sure! :roll: ).

My girls currently have a doodlehouse within a good sized WIR, the doodlehouse will no way fit any more girls so my master plan is to get a wooden coop (the kind with a run attached to & also underneath the actual house) and place this inside the WIR so that they can all get to know one another whilst the new girls live in here. Once they're all friends and happy to nest together, I'd like to remove the doodlehouse and just have the wooden one in there, with their food and water in the run of the new coop, so that I can just shut the small run door at night and they can come out when they feel like it in the morning, and then they'd be let our into the WIR for the rest of the day.

Sorry this is getting lengthy... I know that usually if a coop manufacturer says it is big enough for 6 birds, it's probably good for 3/4, my question is;

With my girls having the WIR to come out into for the majority of the day, providing there is enough nesting / roosting space for them all in a '6 bird' coop, would they be ok with the smaller run for the hour / hour and a half first thing in the morning? I'd never keep all of them in there 24/7, I just don't want the WIR to be taken over by a massive house!

Sorry, I do go on! :silenced:
