growing up!

Recommended Posts

So even my smallest chook will be 14 weeks old now and I was thinking I could put the roosting bars back into the cube at the weekend - does this sound ok? Should I put one set in so they have a choice?

Also, I have not yet wormed the girls - when I first got them they were so little it seemed a bit mean and then I got my vet to do a cocci and worm egg count on their poo (great fun watching them in the netting and running over to grab and label each ones little present!!) and they were all clear for both so I haven't bothered yet. I was thinking I could wait until they were on layers pellets and get the marriages stuff - when should I swap them over and does this sound ok?

Thanks

H

Its a chicken poo question, and sorry, but its a bit descriptive.

I have 4 hens who are in a large grass enclosure ... Ive noticed that everyday there are about 6 poos that don't look very nice .. The only way I can describe it (and sorry its a bit yucky) is that they look like normal poos, but with hot melted chocolate sauce poured on top, and for some reason, the flies seems to be particularly attracted to them.

I have never found these poos in their coop, only on the grass ... I tend to sprinkle Stalosan on them to deter the flies, but I dont know whether this is the right thing to do or not.

All the girls seem really healthy.
