So we are planning on making a concrete base for the run so that it is easier to clean the girls out and to help the run floor stay dry. We live in a converted stable block that has a courtyard in the middle, a "road" round the outside and then gardens are over that road. The gardens have a rectangle cut out for parking which leaves a small section of garden nearest the house next to the parking then the rest stretches away to a communal "paddock". Just now our girls are in the small section nearest the house which is handy and sheltered but is at the bottom of the slope and in the shade. I'm torn between keeping them here or moving to the furthest away corner of the garden where they would be at the top of the hill so less damp but more exposed and in the sun (good at this time of year but perhaps bad in summer?). What do people think would be best? Do they deal with cold better than heat?
