Hi,

I looking for some inspiration to enrich the 2m run I have for my eglu which is housing 3 young bantams.

I have but a log in there for them so they can sit off of the ground so they wish to, but looking for some other ideas so they don't get to bored whilst I'm at work all day (also they are a little bit small to free range at the moment...)

I've looked through the run photos thread but most seem to be walk-in runs rather than the standard eglu runs...

Thanks

Hannah

Some people hang CDs up - mine have never shown any interest, but some birds peck at them, a bit like the traditional mirror in the budgie cage! You could hang up green leaves, fruit etc - I have used a wire cage, the sort intended for suet blocks for wild birds, and you can stuff it with cabbage leaves or similar for them to peck at during the day. I think Omlet sell some products for this.

If there's room in the run, you could put in a large plant-pot or a cat-litter tray with sand/soil for a dust bath.

I was thinking how I could hand some fresh veg items up for them, didn't think of using a suet block feeder (I have a spare one was well  ), ah well I should be able to set that up for tomorrow.

A dust bath is a good idea too... just need to gather the necessary together.... it's a very grassy run at the moment, not sure if we're going to leave it permantly positioned or move it about yet, at the moment the grass is still growing (or at least it was last week when milder), so moving about is at option...
