Vaccinations

Recommended Posts

Vaccinations are done as a course when the bird is very young, they are mainly sprayed on to batches of chicks although some can be given by syringe. this is done when the chicks is anywhere between an hour old and about 8 weeks old

Most vaccinations cannot be given to grown chickens, there are one or two that could be added to drinking water of adult birds but I believe that this is a bit of a con and they are unlikely to be effective

Well over 95% of pure breeds are not vaccinated and there are few problems overall

If you have hybrids then chances are they were automatically vaccinated as youngsters and although there is debate about whether the vaccinations last they dont need re-doing as adults

Hope that helps
