good_egg
.....or Dorothy is laying a ridiculous quantity! We are getting almost one a day (with the odd miss)! We had two softies in the poop trays bout a week ago, but otherwise they are all perfect! Buffy is squatting like a pro these last few days, so I reckon she is also laying, or about to, but how to tell? I'm inspecting eggs like a maniac, but they are all similar baby size (40 -45g) and although there are slight colour variations no two are the same - there are currently 4 subtley different eggs in my basket! So chuffed, but wish I had absolute confirmation - asked them if they could sign them as they came out but they haven't obliged!
sjp
dotte eggs a sussex eggs can be difficult to tell a part colour wise but sussex should be bigger after a while but I could never tell the differance butween the 2 when I had a dotte the only way really is to play the watch for them to lay game which with a sussex can be easier than a dotte if mine are anything to go by as my sussex likes to tell the world and his wife that she's about to lay and then layed an egg
good_egg
Another egg this morning, heavyweight so far at 51g! They seem to lay them overnight so I can't tell who it is (was cold when I collected)! Also seem to keep leaving me a poo of nearly the same proportions in the nest box as well!!
