My columbine is the only and first hen I have to go through a moult this year and she's really been through the wars this summer/winter so far, having Blackhead, being broody and badly bullied and of course moulting. I do wonder though, if she will grow her 'hat' back as I can't see any new feathers growing through (maybe another naughty chicken pecked them out - though I keep a good eye on them and never seen feather pecking from the other chook - or she damaged them herself somehow?)

I do hope she grows some more feathers...she really has come through nicely after being pecked badly by the other girls (which is why I have two groups, as the other pair like to pick on her) - her body feathers look beautiful and she's put on the weight and starting laying again which is what I was waiting for

One of mine was looking a little like this and I thought that maybe the others were giving her a little peck. Hopefully the spring will bring some new feathers.
