peachachecha
Hello, I am so excited. I have finally found a jam and jelly maker here in the states! It is a Ball Fresh Tech Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker. I just ordered it and can't wait to try making some marmalade. Does anyone have a good recipe for a first time jam and jelly maker? Has anyone ever used this product?
craftyhunnypie
Hi - I have the Tefal jam maker & love it! If it is like mine, you can also make rice pudding in it! Mine makes a more conserve set jam than a normal set, if I use normal everyday sugar. However if a use jam sugar then I get a nice firm set. I use the usual rule of 1lb fruit to 1lb sugar, plus about 200ml of water. Mine came with very odd instructions as it was aimed at the rest of Europe, rather than the U.K, who seem to prefer a conserve runnier jam. Plus the instructions were very sort of broken English. I did have to work a lot out for myself, but it did work first time. Good luck, I am sure you will have some great fun & preserves with your jam maker! I make plum, marmalade, rhubarb & ginger, blackberry & raspberry mainly. BUt I did once try a pineapple jam, which was lovely! peachachecha
Emma, thanks so much for your response. Would it be possible to give me the recipe for marmlade? My son-in-law loves it. Thanks again.
