StephenW
Hi guys, I have a polish bantam and the feathers on its head are a bit wirey like pictured below. Wills this straighten itself out in the next moult? Thanks Steve
Redwing
Those are just feather casings, these are around each feather as it emerges then will flake away in time. So those are new feathers You can crumble the casings with your fingers with no I'll effects but I just leave them to fall away naturally When they flake you will find the flakes in the coop so don't panic when you see a lot of White dust in there

Chortle Chook
That's just what my Polish chamois girl looks like at the moment. I call her the 'pin cushion' but I know that any day now she will sport a lovely big hair do with all her new head feathers
