chickencam
A question for you Kobo experts out there please. OH was sent a voucher for books by my Dad for his birthday, he looked a couple of days ago for the next two books in a series that he is reading they had them both but he didn't have time to download them, he has looked agin tonight and they only ave the third book not the second, do they only have a limited number? I would have thought being digital they would have unlimited numbers? Has anyone else similar problems?
majorbloodnock
What are the book titles? Sometimes searching Kobo's site isn't quite as slick as it should be.
chickencam
S J Parris Prophecy, annoyingly he has downloaded Sacrilege which is the third book in the series but obviously he doesn't want to read this until he has read the second one. He also got very frustrated later in the evening when he downloaded an ebook which contains 6 novels and although it finally appeared in his library on the Kobo desktop it hasn't synced with his Kobo, not at all at first and now all he has is the title pages of the novels. For a long time it was showing in his purchased items but not anywhere else. he seems to have a lot of trouble getting books across from the desktop to the ereader, would he be better doing it wirelessly? He only has the basic old slow Kobo that doesn't have touch screen. He is seriously looking to sell this on and buy a Kobo Glo which my dad has and seems to get on with pretty well. majorbloodnock
Well, I just signed in and searched on "S J Parris", and found the three books (Heresy, Prophecy and Sacrilege) as separate titles and also as a three book set. Prophecy was definitely available to buy as at 14:12 today. I'm not sure what to suggest, really. I have a Kobo touch, as does my wife. I'm perfectly happy with mine, although my wife has had a couple of niggles with hers, though they're sorted now. The main issue I've had with synchronisation is not the connection type but idiosyncracies between the device and Kobo's web site. For instance, there was one particular book I deleted both from my Kobo and from Kobo Desktop, but whether I synchronised wirelessly or via the computer, I always found that book being downloaded and installed again. This continued until I went to my library on the web site and emptied the trash. The trouble is that a friend of mine with a Kindle is experiencing the same level of issues; nothing important but odd niggles now and then. My gut feeling is that the competition is so severe at the moment that the suppliers are having to pare right back on price, and every now and then it's showing up in quality.
