kittyl
I am trying to work out what day to put my eggs on, there are a couple of days near the hatching time that I will be away all day & want to avoid this being "hatch day". The 2 hatchings I've done were with a broody & were brahma bantams, so larger than say pekins & they took 21/22 days. These are bantam faverolle so maybe large bantams, would I therefor expect them to take longer than the 18 days? or is it usually quicker with an incubator than with a broody? It would be interesting to know how long different breeds have taken to hatch for others here.
Redwing
Mine nearly always take 21 days regardless of breed or size Dont forget that the day you set them is day
sjp
a tip to remember is if you set on Monday for example they should hatch on a Monday +/- 24hrs so if you want them to hatch at the weekend so you can watch them hatch set then on a Friday or Saturday. but if you want them all fluffy and dry for the weekend set them on a Thursday or Friday
kittyl
As a rule does it make a difference what time of day the eggs first go into the incy? If I put them in morning time will they more likely hatch during the day than if I did so in the evening? or is it irrelevant?
