Rats again!

I think it must be the time of year. Lots of posts about rats. Last night I went to shut the girls up for the night and was startled (to say the least :!: ) to find myself in the run with a panicking rat :!::shock: It made a dash for it and exited via the hole it had dug under the run. I did have rat/rats last summer, which I got rid of by putting poison down in a bait box, but with all the rain the box kept filling up with water so I took it up in the end. I think I'm going to get rid of my compost bin as well this time, as I think they do use that as a place to hide (I can see a tunnel going under it), so this weekend it's a trip to the dump with the compost bin and fill up and re-site the rat bait box. Hopefully that will do the trick. :(
