they need 24 hrs to 'rest' then it depends on the broody. mine will take eggs any time but the established advice is in the evening if she's a bad tempered broody then when she's out for a 'fag' break is best, less damage to ones hand

Ok I have put them in pretty much as soon as we got them home she has stayed sitting there she just looks huge now with all them eggs under her bless I will remove the others when she gets out for food if I don't get a chance should I just leave them there and should I look out for any signs within these next few weeks that might compromise the eggs?
