Down to five...

After the sad departure of Crocus, at least this loss makes me chuckle...

Ever since bringing Coriander home I've been concerned she was much bigger than the other girls, and thought to start with that she was much older. Last Wednesday morning whilst making the kids packed lunches I got my answer when "she" tried to crow!!!

I called the guy "she" came from who offered to swap her for a year old girl, but since we've not got the other two little girls into the cube yet - and he was most likely going to dispatch the unwanted cockerel, Geoff (the cockerel previously known as Coriander) has gone to live with a friend who can have crowing in her garden in the countryside. And thank god I sorted it last weekend as he has crowed properly at 5.15 in the morning the last three days... my neighbours would not have found that funny at all

Fingers crossed in the spring we will get some eggs and a broody hen at the same time between us - and whatever hatches doesn't end up being all boys!!!
