The Dogmother
Just had a call, purporting to be from Orange, who I have my home BBand with; London number but obviously from an Asian call centre... very bad line and he was speaking so fast that I couldn't make out what he was saying. When I slowed him down, it seems that they are offering existing customers some sort of deal on bb + phone etc. It's impossible to deal with anything like that on the mobile here at work as the line always cuts out. Signal is dreadful here. I asked him to email me - if he is from Orange then he will have my email address - he just went on and on, very fast so I told him (again) that I can't deal with it at work and put the phone down. Exasperating or what? Anyone else getting these, or any idea what it's all about?
Princess Leia
No, but I would be very suspicious. Companies VERY rarely contact existing customers to advise them of a better deal - you usually have to find it yourself. The good deals are all saved for new customers. We were with Orange BB (formerly Wannadoo and before that, Freeserve) for a few years. Customer service became so appalling we ditched them to go with O2, but have now moved back to BT. The Dogmother
I called back the number they rang on (from my untraceable landline) and it's a legit number, the caller must have been patched through a UK London number
