Hippychicky Posted October 21, 2013 Share Posted October 21, 2013 Hi, I'm very new to chicken keeping and a week ago I set up with two chickens coming up to pol and two younger ones. All was fine until I decided to introduce another girl of the same age. I introduced her over a few hours while the others were free ranging but my buff Sussex took an instant dislike. She is top chicken but normally kind to the others. It's been 24 hours now and the newcomer is still being chased and pecked at (with some silent periods) Basically if the newcomer tries to walk past she gets attacked. She has been able to eat and drink which I know is a good thing but just wondering is this all normal and will it settle soon? Is there anything else I can do? Many thanks. It's as if every time she tries to get past or move somewhere else she gets chased and pecked. How long do you think it will take to settle? Many thanks. I've just poked my head in the coop and they appear to be all cuddled up together so fingers crossed that's a very good thing!
