Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Recently I have been having trouble when trying to open the cube door. When I pull out the metal spindle, it won't turn and let me open it and I am having to lift my chickens out of the back. It doesn't happen every time, but it is very annoying as the chickens can't get back in for laying. Has anyone else had this problem?

WD40 might do the trick. It did for mine.

Could something (straw?) be caught up somewhere hampering the mechanism?
