Olly
I've seen that on the BBC website - which managed a higher degree of accuracy, the queen doesn't lead the swarm to the new site! A bit of a sock to anyone shopping in Victoria Street though. It's definitely swarm season round here, quite a few calls to our local Association. Mrs Webmuppet
I collected my first swarm ever yesterday under the guidance of my mentor. It had sensibly gone onto a low branch of a tree so I could reach easily. As they were his bees I felt quite safe! We had collected another swarm from a tree in a elderly bee keepers garden earlier in the afternoon too (that was my tutorial then with the second one he handed me the box and said of you go )
