Just got my eglu/rablu and have some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi, I got my Rablu yesterday and have some questions I’m hoping someone can help me with?

1. When I was fitting the run to the eglu it didn’t fit snugly against it the run gapped out away from the eglu a bit, is this normal? (when I put the lid back on the eglu you can’t see it though it did make closing the clasp thing a bit more difficult as struggled a bit to push the pole through)

2. If you are looking inside the eglu through the port hole there is a small gap at the edge where the lid meets the base that you can see daylight through it’s only on one side, is that normal?

3. Is it okay for me to leave the door of the eglu open 24/7 so that Benji can go in and out of the run as he pleases, will this allow him to get too cold at night?

4. As Benji is only a baby bunny (11 weeks) will he be okay to winter out in the eglu (again with the door open 24/7)?

Thanks in advance for your help, apart from my worries above it does look good though even though I had measured it out I still hadn’t appreciated how big it was, but it is purple and I think it looks cool.

Hi there! Congrats on your lovely new rablu, not sure about question 1, but sometimes it needs a bit of moulding, if you know what I mean. I have a gap between lid and base, the weather effects mine as well, but never had any problem with water getting in. Yes keep bunny out, they're much happier, by the time winter arrives he will be nearly an adult, so don't worry, as long as they have plenty of dry hay they will be fine. Call me crazy but I bought mine a little plastic dog bed, they love to snuggle up together, I also got a couple of snuggle safes , hot water bottles for animals, although we had quite a mild winter, so did'nt need them much, they have a web site. Hope this helps, have fun!!!

Thanks pepe. That's made me feel better. :D Have looked at the snugglessafe website and will be getting him one for winter. I've also got the winter shade to give him some extra shelter in the run. I like the dog bed idea.

He will be going in the rablu for a few hours each day (when I'm at home) until we get a garden gate up (the neighbours have dogs) then he will be out full time, should be a week on Sunday.
