mrsatroy
I lost poor Hannah on Tuesday - by all her symptoms she was egg bound and despite warm baths and a trip to the vet she was suffering and DH put her out of her misery on Tuesday. And then yesterday DH discovered Daisy stretched out stiff and cold in the coop. She must have died in the night. She hadn't displayed any signs of sickness except that she wasn't hugely interested in some pasta treats the day before. She didn't appear to be swollen in her abdomen so it didn't seem to be what had happened to poor Hannah. I am beside myself with worry now that it is something that is going to go through the flock and I will lose more Could anybody please recommend something I can do/give to boost the health and wellbeing of my remaining birds. There seem to be so many supplements out there and I am confused but feel I must do something. Any advice appreciated
jimnpaula
So sorry to hear this news It is moulting time which is a stress for them so that wouldn't help them to get over anything else bothering them. The supplements I'm using are garlic & mint 'bits' and poultry spice in their food, and a Lifeguard-type vitamin liquid to add to their water when I remember. I also have Nutri-drops available for off-colour chooks. I don't recommend worming during moulting as I lost Jet when I did this, but consider when they were last done. mrsatroy
Thank you so much for advice. I have ordered a liquid multi vitamin tonic with seaweed to add to their water and also some mineral powder for their food. They had their dose of verm-ex pellets last month but maybe when they perk up I need to dose them with flubenvet. I am just petrified something will happen to the others. I feel so bad losing 2 in such a short time
