BuryFCA1
How do you know when and if the girls need worming?
Pottage
I think most people on here worm their girls every three months, to be safe. Unless you have their poo tested by someone like Retfords (or are unlucky enough to get tapeworm, the segments for those are clearly visible in their droppings) there is no real way of knowing as far as I know. Beantree
We do ours every 6 months with Flubenvet BuryFCA1. Probably a bit late but we have a lot to do. Every 4 months would be ideal, but I think every 3 months is a bit over-cautious. Important to use Flubenvet and avoid treats or free ranging. Easiest way is to buy Marriages premixed layers pellets. Ours used to prefer them to their usual Smallholder layers.
gavclojak
Yep every four months for me, if your hens do any free ranging then it's odds on they'll have worms but keeping to a strict and regular worming cycle minimises the worm loads and keeps the girls healthy and productive. Again flubervent for me too!
