SallymaySteven
Hi guys Asking advice again. They are saying it might get to minus 8 where we are tonight. Now Maggie and Helga are in a wooden coop built for two and I was wondering if they will be ok or if I need to do something more. Worried about my girls in the cold. I keep their food and water inside so it doesn't freeze etc. Will they be ok?
Olly
As long as they're dry and not in a draught, they should be ok. Although the Eglu is insulated I never close the door on mine, and my hens have never shown any ill-effects. They will snuggle up together under the double-duvets that they're wearing and be fine. Grandmashazzie
When it gets really cold I put a pet heat pad in.You can get them quite reasonably from Amazon. They probably don't need it but it makes me feel better.
