Mar1a
We've noticed that the "bedroom" is poop free in the morning, but the roof of the house has loads on it. It is clear that they are camping out. My first thought was red mite so I treated the coop and the girls for it and that night I went to check on them and they'd crammed themselves into the nest boxes, but were indoors so I was ok with that. I'm going to disinfect, spray and powder again on Sunday. Am I being over cautious? Are they just getting too hot in their bedroom? The vents are fully open and the door to the coop is open at night too. It's been pretty warm here the last few nights. The night they were inside it was chillier
Ain't Nobody Here
Mine always sleep al fresco, regardless of the weather. Even in snow storms and howling gales, they choose to sleep outdoors (but within the walk in run!). I wouldn't stress, if you're sure there are no beasties, at least you won't have to clean out the nestboxes as often .
Redwing
Most of my lot choose to sleep outside in all but the worst weather. its more to do with the height I think, they like to roost as high as possible To answer your question no a coop shouldn't get too hot provided it is well designed
