Mar1a
My lovely, mental, insane bovan nera was acting very strangely this afternoon. She's usually the first at the gate, first to make noise when she notices me, first for treats, I'm sure you get the picture Today she wasn't right. She was standing up, with her back end sort of split in two. Tail down and downy feathers down more, and her back end was pulsating. I was pretty sure she'd laid this morning so it concerned me. If I went near her, she went the other way. There wasn't a single treat I could tempt her with. She kept closing her eyes and generally was not at all with it. All sorts was running through my mind, I even got the hospital out I must have looked very odd outside the run, the positions I was getting in to try and see her back end Suddenly, she moved over, lifted her wings and shoulders, and there it was. A soft egg. In the time it took for me to get a pair of gloves from the shed, her and the others had completely decimated it, shell and all. She seemed to take about half an hour to perk up again and she still wasn't her normal self then. Sorry, I'm waffling Should I be looking for anything more with her? Have I missed something crucial? jimnpaula
Hopefully she's feeling better this morning? It seems to take a lot out of them to lay a softie - at least by eating it the nutrients get recycled
