Hippie Chick Posted April 17, 2017 Share Posted April 17, 2017 Not altogether unusual for a hen, I'll grant you that, but Timmy the Speckledy hasn't bothered laying an egg for 14 months. She stopped laying in her first winter and I thought that was going to be that. But... she started squatting last week, then laid a few papery shelled eggs which just collapsed immediately and today she's managed her first proper egg! I wonder if she'll continue to lay from now on or just for the spring? It's nice to see the brown speckled eggs again She's also become much more friendly which is a big help although she did try and get into the kitchen yesterday in case there were tasty treats on offer!
