Dmac
Hi I have 3 hens. I is a 7 year old mix, 1 ISA Brown and a light Sussex. These 2 are still young. The LS has just started laying and the ISA brown is still developing. My problem is the LS. She will not stay in the garden with the other 2. It's a large garden with plenty of grass, trees and bushes. As soon as she gets out in the morning she's straight over the fence. She's started to travel further in the last couple of days. (Across the road to see what my neighbour is doing) I'm concerned that she's going to get hit by a car. The garden is surrounded by a 5 ft fence. I'm nervous about clipping her wing as I've never needed to do do it before. I'm also worried about her escaping predators if she can't get herself of the ground. Any ideas. Grandmashazzie
If I were you I would clip her wings. Especially to stop her going on main road, she might cause an accident. You can have a look on you tube. When I say wings I mean wing,as you only clip one so they are unbalanced.
Dmac
Thanks. I have a feeling even if I clip her wing she'll find a way out. She's a very determined girl!! On the plus side she's that tired she goes to bed nice and early! I'll give it a try this weekend.
