Chiccoletta
So until recently I had 6 hybrids and 2 modern game bantams. Sadly one of my big girls died 2 weeks ago (she has always been sickly and I think a respiratory infection got the better of her). I've kept a close eye on the rest and they seem absolutely fine. For the last 4 nights my cream legbar has decided to sleep up on the pergola above their run and not go in the Eglu. A friend suggested mites could be eating her but I have a weekly wash out/poultry shield/mite powder routine, I've been out with a torch on a mite hunt and can't see a single sign. Is she sleeping up there because the others are bullying her cos she's lost her friend? What should I do? I've popped her back in the Eglu a couple of times but I struggle to reach her if hubbie's not around (and it's dark and slippery by the time I get home from work). The pergola is within the electric fence and about 6 feet high so she should be safe enough albeit freezing. Help!
sjp
could be one or more of said items or it could just be she's a cream legbar, I'm on my second and both have been the same would rather sleep outside than in most times I also think they like been put to bed as I've noticed that my current one is going into the coop more at night since I've not been locking up at night for the last 6-8 weeks due to a gammy knee as for your situation it's a risk to leave her out of at least a fully secure run at night six foot is easily with in a fox's reach and an electric fence can fail and are easily broken through by cats and foxes
