Emilouhughes
I adopted 3 ex batt chickens 6 days ago. I have an omlet go with a 3 metre run. My question for you experienced chicken keepers is, how can I handle the very dominant chicken who won’t let the others into the house at night? She is the first to go to bed, just before dusk. The others want to go in but will not go past her (I don’t blame them). The dominant chicken doesn’t just sit threateningly inside the house, she keeps getting up and running out to the far side of the run to attack the other two Chickens and then returns inside the next box. It’s a job to get the other two in at night. Im thinking that I should take out the dominant chicken and segregate her when she starts doing this and then pop her in the next box only when the other two are inside. Advice gratefully received! Cat tails
I would do exactly that. Make sure the other two can get to bed and then pop the trouble maker in with them.
