millymeerkat
Hello, I tried washing the run covers/shade covers at the weekend, just in a washing up bowl with some e-cover and tea tree oil as they were so grubby with all the bad weather and a pair of pigeons have taken to landing on one of the covers for their mid-morning natter, so needless to say, there were a few dropping on there too. The washing up bowl/warm water/e-cover method has got rid of the droppings and freshened it up a little, but they still don't look clean. My question is: Can you wash the covers in the washing machine? Has anyone tried this? And if so, what setting? I'm going in for three quite major operations over the next few months and my poor hubby is going to have to be looking after my girls entirely on his own, so if the covers can go in the washing machine, that'd make life easier for him!!! Thank you! PS: For anyone who remembers me posting about my poor injured Beryl and all the girls fighting - Quick update: 3 out of the 4 girls (although Audrey wasn't bullying, she took to feather pulling in a big way) have bumper bits on now and have all been in the Cube for about 2 weeks straight now! Yay! Beryls little mohican is growing back slowly and she's gettting very bold at stealing treats off the other girls! There's the odd sqabble, but no more blood shed and they even occasionally all sun-bathe and dust-bathe together when they're feeling really friendly!!! So thanks again to everyone who helped me through all of that upset
chelsea
I put mine in my machine (then again I put everything in my machine!) I put it on a very cool wash (think it was 30) or the "worn once" option on my machine. It came out fine and I just hung it out to dry off and put back on.
