Guest
Hello Sorry another question from a true beginner! We had our rabbit, Oakey, castrated about 3 weeks ago and he's recovered really well. He's much more loving and calm which is great. But...he's just started running around with straw from his eglu in his mouth like he wants to build a nest - is this a normal reaction to the changes in his hormones or something??? Thanks L
The Dogmother
Sorry I can't answer that one Laura as I haven't had a boy bunny - only girls in my house! But one of my girl bunnies does chew straw compulsively!
Guest
Thanks Clare. I've read about someone else's boy bunny on another site who's done the same thing following his operation so maybe it's just a reaction to losing all that testosterone!! If anyone has a boy bunny that can offer any advice it'd be great to hear from you. L PS. Clare - are your mini lops smaller than dwarf ones? The Dogmother
Good to hear that it's not odd then. My mini lops are supposed to be smaller than dwarf lops, but I think that they are quite big for their breed. I haven't got any recent pix of them, but there are a couple of them as 'smallsters' in my album They are sisters from a breeder in Ross on Wye
