Hello everyone,

I bough the eglu last spring and it has been great through summer. now that winter is coming, I am wondering what others do to bolster the insulations for their chickens. I only put straw in the nesting box, but am keen to hear what other do.

Where are that Winter is coming??? Westeros?

I wouldn’t use straw, as it is a bug magnet and all sorts of lice and mites can live in it. I only used straw when it was about -10 for a week this past winter.

if you close the pop hole normal sized chickens will be perfectly fine in most weather.

How cold does it get in winter in your place?
