craftyhunnypie
Why does it always happen when I am away on holiday or away for the weekend in the caravan? Came home today & my chicken sitters mum came round with a first egg from one of my newbies. Smartie my leghorn has been laying for a week now - lovely china white eggs, so it's not hers as this is a lovely, quite dark brown egg - with a few speckles! A good size too. She thinks it is Rolos, my black rock - but I think it is Bounty's my magpie, as she was crouching last week! What a mystery, I guess I will have to be out in the garden watching them tomorrow on egg watch! Will get some photos on here as well tomorrow! Emma - doing the egg dance in her PJ's!!!!! x

Karen & co.
Wonderful hope you find out who has laid it, then can you send her round here, as my girls are still no where near ready Iris one of the leghorns now has red wattles and a comb, but the other two bought at the same time still look like babies karen x
craftyhunnypie
Hiya! Smartie my white leghorn was 23 / 24 weeks old when she started laying 13th October. Noted w the mystery egg layer will be 25 / 26 weeks old, quite old for POL as the Omlet girls were only about 18 weeks / 20 weeks when they started laying. I've already had my china white egg this morning from Smartie the leghorn. Quite a big sized one today - possibly a double yolker - bless her. I'm watching out for the mystery egg layer now though. Miss Marple on a mission! Emma.x
