Rona
Someone told me that sugar beet pellets can be used as a non-chemical rat poison. The pellets are some sort of horse feed and the rats are attracted to them because they contain molasses but once they have eaten them they swell up inside their stomach and that kills them. Has anyone heard about or have an opinion on this? I worry that if I put conventional poison down the rat will eat it, go off into the woods and die and one of my cats will find it and claim it as its own and get poisoned second-hand. I don't really know if this is possible or likely but again, I would appreciate any advice or opinions on it.
Egluntyne
Sounds like the same principle as Eradibait which used to be called Eradirat. That is supposed to work in that way...and the corpses don't poison any animals that eat them. I bought some. The rats loved it. I had to resort to poison in the end.
